A Driveway Permit (PDF) to create access for land use or upgrades to current drive. Make sure directions to the site are complete on your application. Also note, it may take up to 7 - 10 business days to issue a driveway permit. An Authorization Form (PDF) needs to be completed by the property owner when a contractor or someone other than the owner is performing work for the owner.
You can pay for your permit online here or mail a check for the permit amount with your application. Your application cannot be accepted unless all necessary documentation is submitted with it. You must have your signed permit by the Road Commission before performing any type of work in the road right-of-way.
If you are applying for a permit on an Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Highway, you will need to apply for your permit on the Michigan Business website.
A Utility Permit Application (PDF) and the Estimated Fees (PDF) are required for utility companies performing work within the county road right-of-way. This application must be submitted with the estimated fee sheet and signed Terms and Conditions (PDF).

A Right-of-Way Permit Application (PDF) is required for commercial, utility, residential, and non-driveway use including races and events. For races and events, please use this Event Checklist (PDF) for additional information needed. Private Road Sign Application
To purchase and/or have a private road sign installed within the GTCRC right-of-way, please fill out an application and return once all requirements have been met.

Fines for performing work in the county road right-of-way without a permit are double the posted fee amount. Please keep your permit on-site at all times.
